Letters of Appreciation
In Support of Turner
During an earlier chapter of my live I was a newspaper reporter. My work occasionally took me to the State House. While under the Golden Dome I had the opportunity to see many fine legislators at work, men and women who took their jobs seriously. Then there was another group of legislators who seemed simply drunk on their self-importance, strutting around like little banty hens and roosters crowing about how important they were while their more productive colleagues did the actual work.
Fast forward several years - I am no longer reporting about the legislators, I am one of them, serving as one of the legislators from Orleans 1 in the Northeast Kingdom.
Now to the point of this letter. There are still many fine legislators who take their jobs seriously, and there are still the banty hens and roosters strutting around. It's my pleasure to endorse Don Turner of Milton for re-election to his House seat. He certainly is no banty rooster. A man of great wisdom, Don is one of the most thoughtful legislators that I have had the privilege of serving with i the State House. When he votes, he isn't voting to represent a party; he does it to represent the people of his district. The State House needs more legislators like Don Turner.

In Support of Turner and Hubert
I write this letter in support of returning Don Turner to the Vermont Statehouse and sending Ron Hubert as Milton's newest representative.
I have known Don for many years. He has served, and continues to serve this community in many capacities, most prominently as our current State Representative, but also as the head of our Fire and Rescue Departments. He is also a respected part of our local business community. He is a professional, committed and caring person who puts Milton taxpayers first and politics second. His record in Montpelier is one to be proud of and he represents Milton well.
I have also known Ron Hubert for quite some time. He too, is a well-known business owner in town and strongly believes in keeping our taxes down, protecting the working person and small business owner, and bringing common sense business practices to Montpelier. I can assure you that, when I was your State Representative, I often heard from Rob about lowering taxes and keeping our priorities straight under the Golden Dome.
Both Don and Ron will make an effective team and a strong, unified voice for Milton taxpayers. I urge you to cast your vote for Don Turner and Ron Hubert as State Representatives on this very important election day.

Letter of Support
Don Turner, Jr. wears many hats and covers a lot of territory. If you ask him how he does it, as I have, his response will be that he surrounds himself with, and relies on, a number of good people.
What has always been obvious to me is that Don truly cares about the welfare of the town and its residents. He wants what is best for both. No matter where he is... he is always willing to listen to any concerns or answer any questions that he can.
With an interest on running for another term as Representative, he has pledged to make an effort to influence capping the growth of property taxes, implementing a financially sustainable health plan, promoting better paying jobs, encouraging the development of affordable housing and creating economic development incentives. I believe that he will honor this pledge.
As we all know, these are difficult times and all of these issues are very important. Consequently, on November 4th, Don Turner, Jr. will be able to count on my vote. I hope he will be able to count on yours as well.

In Support of Don Turner
I would like to encourage the people of Milton to support Don Turner for State Representative. It has been said that Don has a lot on his plate. I suppose that is true. I for one think, however, that most people who love their community and care for the town's people as Don does, only want the best for the people that live and work here.
Don has always been extremely receptive anytime I have needed to put a call in to him. He has assisted me many times with State issues as well as issues with the local fire/rescue dept. The Turner family background speaks volumes about Don. He carries on the same values that were passed on to him.
If you would all take a moment to think about the hard work, dedication and commitment this man has demonstrated for this town, that alone should tell you how much he cares about what happens to the Town of Milton. I know Don does not go into this position lightly. I have had many conversations with him and know what a task this is. Don is up for the task at hand. I know he would genuinely be very grateful for another opportunity to serve the people of Milton once again.
Last but not least, I would like to thank Don's wife and children for their sacrifice for all that Don does so everyone will have a better Milton. For those of you who might not realize the sacrifice between the fire and Representatives, let me just share some of the unselfish sacrifice. Here are some examples: Dad/husband driving to Montpelier in snowy conditions, Dad/husband reading mountains of Bills, investigating these Bills, phone calls (sorry Don) day and night - on birthdays, anniversaries, fire calls on Christmas Morning or during Thanksgiving meals. Now keep in mind that Don is still a husband and a father on top of everything else. Please consider these unselfish acts that Don performs to try and keep Milton running it's best for us.
I ask in closing again that you support Don Turner for State Representative.
