Don Turner Jr. Candidate for Re-election to the Vermont House
32 Brookside Drive, Milton, Vermont 05468
Dear Fellow Resident,
I understand that you have requested to vote by Absentee Ballot in this fall's election. I have desired to meet with each resident this fall but realize that may not happen by the time that you cast your ballot so please allow me to deliver my material to you in this manner.
You will have four choices of candidates to be your voice in Montpelier. In Milton, we have two representatives and I hope to continue serving you and our community. This election is not about political parties but the future of Vermont. Today's economic crisis needs leaders that understand the needs of Vermonters. I believe that I am that person and I ask for your vote and support.
I will continue to work hard to attract good-paying jobs to Vermont, jobs where the work is meaningful and that allow us to enjoy the quality of life that we have here.
I believe that more of your money should stay in your pocket rather than the coffers in Montpelier. I have been a strong advocate of less government rather than more. I know that government should be our servant, not our master and will continue to work to reduce where we can. We cannot continue to expand or create programs when we don't have the funds to do so.
I will continue to support efforts to reform the way we raise funding for our schools. We must start to contain the cost of education in Vermont now. We are a hard-working people who labor to make a living and maintain our homes. The burden placed on us with the ever-increasing cost of providing an education to our children must be replaced by a plan with greater fairness to all and one that relies less on property taxation with one that uses other sources of revenue.
There is much unfinished business in Montpelier, and I am looking forward to getting back and finishing it. Please call me with any concerns that you may have. I hope that my service to you during the past three years has been sufficient to earn your vote, a vote that I would greatly value. It has been an honor and privilege serving as your Representative. Thank you.
Representative Don Turner Jr.
